How everything started
On 1 July 1978, couple Josef and Elfride Krösbacher opened a 3-star hotel in the heart of Fulpmes: Alphof. At that time, the hotel had 45 beds and an à-la-carte restaurant. Together, they ran Alphof for 36 years.
On 1 June 2014, Roman, together with his wife Nicole, took over the hotel from his parents.
That’s when the renovation work started: in autumn 2014, the entrance hall, kitchen, staircase, and our beloved “Zuckerhütl” room category were completely redesigned.
In 2015, the bar was renovated and the garden redesigned, and in 2017, the double rooms underwent a complete renovation.
In 2018, the entire façade was renovated, and in 2019, the Serles parlour was created.
In 2021, the Pinnistal dining room was given a brand-new look with modern upholstery and seating, and the wood was sandblasted.
In 2022, the Alp Spa was completely renovated, just like our “Lieblingsplatzl” room category, and we were awarded 4 stars.
In 2024, the suites were redesigned, and in 2025, the restaurant was expanded. In addition, the adults-only Habicht parlour and a playroom for our younger guests were created.
Today, Alphof features over 32 rooms in different categories.
